Tom Marasco | Photographer
Rochester NY Architectural, Real Estate, Commercial, & Pet Photographer
Hello there! If you’ve made it to this page, I appreciate your time in browsing my site. Let me take a moment to properly introduce myself and give a brief history of how I got to where I am, and where I would like to continue to go. My name is Thomas Michael Marasco and I’m a photographer specializing in real estate, architecture, commercial (food and product) & pet photography. I am an instructor at the Rochester Arts Center, and was previously a digital photography and studio photography professor at Mercer County Community College in NJ before moving to Rochester, NY.
I have a passion for fine art printing and print most images in-house using color-managed monitors and printers (a whole other monster in the digital world!). I also enjoy the “geeky” side of photography; the more technical behind-the-scenes part beyond composition and creativity. With extreme interest in the digital darkroom and post-processing workflows, I’m experienced in Photoshop, Lightroom, & ACR. Along with my photography, I do web design and some front end development for bSquare Web, a website development company owned by Dave Witzel. Together, we make a team of dedicated multi-media professionals who incorporate high-end photography into the website development workflow for local businesses in the Greater Rochester Area. We also specialize in aerial photography using the latest state-of-the-art equipment.
You may ask, how does one “specialize” in more than one area? Well, the fact is I enjoy all areas of photography, but I continue to hone my skills in my areas of concentration. I’m always learning and improving, so who knows where it will take me in the future. Have I shot weddings? Yes. Have I shot business portraits? Yes. Have I shot sports? Yes. Have I shot senior portraits? Yes. I’ve shot many areas, but I truly enjoy the particular areas listed above. My skill and interest list continues to grow, dabbling in video now, and I must mention my love for landscape photography; you are most welcomed to purchase any of my prints, printed in house, if you enjoy them and wish to seem them in your home or office.
I grew up in Plainsboro, NJ, a small (but growing) town next to Princeton, NJ. I joined the United States Air Force after high school where I trained and operated as a 2W1X1 A-10 Weapons Technician. Deployed in Afghanistan to support Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), I learned to appreciate what the US has to offer, but also the beauty and diversity of other countries and cultures. After my enlistment was complete, I took advantage of the Post 9/11 GI Bill. A very visual person, I went to college for photography & digital imaging, web design, 3D modelling, and business. Upon graduation, I worked as a luxury real estate photographer in the central NJ and coastal areas. In 2014, my beautiful wife and I moved to Rochester, NY where we decided to settle down with family and where I decided to continue my business.
